Molten Teardrop Necklace

Earthy everyday necklace. 

The backplate of the necklace is made by taking sterling silver off-cutts and melting them into a molten ball on a piece of charcoal. While the silver is red hot, a second charcoal block is used to squish the silver. As the metal cools, the imprint of the charcoal textures the metal and the shape of the pendent is revealed. Because of this technique each pendent will be similar to the one pictured but is unique in its exact shape and details. 

Each pendent has a teardrop stone of your choice set in a fine silver bezel. The exact placement of each stone will vary slightly depending on the shape of the backplate. Stone choice includes: moonstone which has a faceted top, gold rutilated quartz which has a smooth top, prehite which also has a smooth top. 

The pendent hangs on an oxidized 18" silver filled chain.

Pendant is about one inch long, each one will be a little different. The pendent is on an 18 inch chain.
